We were recently asked to tune a Mercedes E350 cdi, 268bhp, 2011 MY.
Initially we were going to tune the ECU on this, but as the customer has a service plan with Mercedes, there is every chance an update could wipe the map off and as the process involves the removal of ECU from the car and tuned on the bench,
a tuning box was order of the day, as although the car isn’t under warranty, it can still receive software updates with tuning box in place, but can be easily removed if need be.
MPG gains so far are 8mpg over standard, whilst still DPF and EGR compatible, and there’s no smoke either.
